Any Triumph fans ?

oh yeah! loved this band,back in the day.still do! ..."Lay It On The Line" & "Fight The Good Fight" are two KILLER tunes that never get old & sound timeless,even with today's heavy music,imo... :rock: good pick,dude!
 
I used to really like them. One of the first songs I learned was "blinding light show" and I liked how they always threw in some off the path stuff like blues or classical songs on their albums. Some of their early stuff was incredibly tacky and unoriginal, but their more progressive albums were definitely interesting. I saw them once live, but lost interest after the Stages album. Rik definitely carried the band, as the other two guys just seemed to be ordinary average musicians.

Gil Moore actually ended up being a contestent on Wheel of Fortune several years ago. Seemed like he actually was on there because he needed money. Must have spent too much on Labatts.
 
very cool stuff, seen them 4 times, great every time, never had a bad night. I miss that stuff
 
Rik Emmett played a gig with his solo band at my university cafeteria back in about 92. Yes the schools cafateria :lol: :LOL: Was his Absoluely Tour.

I was kinda drunk at the time but I remember Rik playing a long extended solo infront of me with his guitar about 3 ft from my face. He play several incredible intense passages each deeper and heavier than the next - it was a totally heavey musical experience I'll never, I mean never forget.

Oh yeah! big big fan. My very first concert ever was Triumph at Cobo Hall in Detroit on the Allied Forces Tour. Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush opened up. :rock:
 
I liked the Emmet tunes much better than the Moore tunes.

It was Mike Levine, the bass player. But yeah Triumph was cool before they got REALLY commercial around 84-85.
