Any you guys use Dunlop Tortex Sharp 1.14 Picks?

I use these picks. Like them for my style. I sharpen them a touch more than they come from the factory, it helps with attack. My OCD kicks in and I cannot reuse them. I use a pick once and then throw in a bucket. Probably have 400 ish.

Most of you guys can afford picks. Maybe some of you can't, I don't fucking know.

I will send 3-4 of you dudes 50-100 if you want to try them or make a necklace with them. Or melt them down to make one big ass pick. Pm me or reply to this thread.

Yeah, I am just use to them. It was a Paul Gilbert thing at one time. In no way am I comparing myself to Mr.Gilbert, he sharpened his picks at one point.

i have a shoe box with a few diffrent types of carpet to sharpen my picks

i use the 1.5mm white sharps, and have since they came out. before that i was using carpet to file the tips down on the regular thick tortex picks.

the 1.5mm are so thick the edges are basically squared off. as soon as that squared off edge goes, so does the pick. i buy them by the gross, as i am willing to bet gsxrbusa does. i also usually gouge the sides with a dart for grip (this actually takes some time when you buy by the gross).

i have tried every variance of the design, but always come back. didn't like the ultex. tried the red bear too, no joy. i kinda like the jazz ones, but they are too small for my gorilla mitts.

everyone's style is different, but i found the sharps perfect for really quick metal rythym shuffle and pedal picking. really accurate stuff sound pristine. but they are a pass or fail pick, there is no "sluffing off" or sloppy playing when using one. they make you a more accurate player.

You sound a lot like me. Fucking the little Jazz picks feel too small, I feel like I can't grip them. I have not tried dart trick but I do find myself licking my thumb and index fingers for grip. The sharper the pick the more they make you be on top off your game IMO.
I buy 72 picks at a time.
