Anybody around here fondle the Jim Root Strat yet ???

Haven't got my hands on the Strat yet. But, I own both the black and a white James Root Tele's.

Great guitars. The white with ebony is exceptionally good with a really fast neck. For MIM guitars, they kick some ass.

I like the fixed tailpiece on his Strat. The only thing I don't like is the 70's head stock. I always thought they were ugly as shit. But who cares, Root rocks!

Sure did! Fondled Jim's Strat and Tele this summer! Nice guitars, even nicer dude!

Pretty simple rig setup too.

Is it? My bad then. The Tele's are MIM. About the same price so I thought.......then again, there I go thinking again! MIM is the same anyway, just across the border from Calexico

Seems to be the direct inspiration for the JR tele imho

I dont have or have played one but saw one first on a post on TGP and had to pm the dude to ask about em... Lovely shredder!

I played it, seemed heavier than most strats I've played which was nice. Neck was great. Let us know what you like/dislike about it. I think it would make a good foundation for a Dropped C Axe.

Its a sweet guitar. Its about time fender started making guitars like that. Theres a root tele used at my local shop that ive had my eye on too.

Old friend of mine called me yesterday, havent heard from him in 5 years he happened to be working in a guitar shop that carries fender so when I went over to visit him yesterday he had one..
I played on it for about 45 minutes, Really Nice guitar for 1K
I liked the John5 Model better though..
