I love his books. Many of them are so good. If you haven’t read them, start out with:

Birds of Prey - amazing book about a privateer and his son off the coast of Africa sailing under England. Basically legal pirates raiding Dutch East India Company ships as England was at war with them.
-best part, there are a few more books after this

He has many books and a few series. At the very least, his books are good, but most are amazing.

Other killer writers:
Robert Ludlum - the Bourne Series amongst many other great books

-Ken Follet - many great books

-Bernard Cornwall - many great books

-Mark Greaney - grey man series

-Brad Thor

-Alex Berenson

-Daniel Silva - amazing Gabriel Allon books

-Michael Connelly

-Vince Flynn - Mitch Rapp series, which Hollywood ruined with American Assassin, casting Dylan O’ Brien as the CIA’s greatest ever killer

-Ben Coes - Dewey Andreas books

-get a book by any of these guys and you will love it.

Having grown up in South Africa in the same state (Natal) that he did, I remember that "everyone" knew of him.

My dad read most if not all his books but I never got 'round to it myself.

Huge respect for him as an author 'though.

I'm reading The angels weep and have read When the Lion Feeds. I'm into African history, so I dig his writing.
