I've been searching for a backing for this song with no luck. Can anybody help me out? :dunno:

LMAO!!! I was just blasting The Mission and Speak yesterday and was wondering the same thing

I looked a while back, and came up with nothing.

I've always wanted to do covers of this whole album. One of my favorites, for sure.

I've always told myself that if become a famous musician, my band is gonna do Operation:Mindcrime live and release it ala Dream Theater's cover record.

Operation is my favorite album of all time. Back when it came out, they played here, and I got my tickets the day they went on sale. I was so excited, I got so messed up before the show, I passed out in my friends truck and got busted for under age drinking. I guess my head was hanging out the door and I was passed out. I never did get to see the show.   I heard it was really good though...

They are for sure one of my favorite bands of all time. We hired our 2nd singer based on the fact that he came in and sang the Mindcrime Album front to back. We did 5 songs off that album, and 8 songs off thier other albums. We never asked him to sing anything else when auditioning him, he had the job at that point. We knew if he could sing that, he could sing anything we did. The Mission is not a hard song, if I knew what the chords were called, I would tell you. I play totally by ear. The hardest part of that song was the backup vocals. If you dont match vocal vibratos, it just does'ent sound the same. If you have access to the videos, its easy to see what hes doing on guitar. Saw them 4 times on that tour, it was unbelievable every time. Rage for Order was just as good. It was a very sad day when DeGarmo left, its never been the same - Jim

Yeah, I think you might have gotten mixed up. I'm looking for a backing track to play over, not tab to learn it. I learn stuff by ear too. I just wish I could make my own backings.

That's my favorite song on one of my favorite discs.

I'm going to a party tonight and most of the people who'll be there are musicians. I was "asked" to learn "I Don't Believe in Love" so I could sit in.

Did you tell them that you awoke on impact under surveillance?
  Good one!

From the camera eye, searching high and low?

I'm rediscovering a lot of great music from that time, including QR. Great stuff, it's easy to see why they were so good, dual guitars, great vocals, cool subject matter.
