They are spendy for sure, so wanted to see if anybody had experience with them. My room is not super conducive to wall mounts so am looking at alternatives as I don’t easily have the floor space for another 7 guitar rack and have also gotten more odd shaped guitars that don’t sit well in the traditional rack anyways
Thinking of this:

Seen those before—sounds like a great solution for your situation as long as you have high enough ceilings. If they are built well I wouldn’t say that is too pricey.

I have the rack 14 guitar stack and 6 guitar floor stand.

The stack wasnt the greatest in fit. The top gets dowel pinned into the bottom.
Fit was off at least 1/8 inch.

Company sent me other sides to see if they'd line up.
I had to elongate the holes. Lot of money for not being a Dead Nuts Fit.

The foam rubber the neck cradles into starts to get worn from taking the guitars in and out.
They will send out new foam without a lot of questions on their behalf.

Buy it again? Yup. But just be aware of the issues I stated.

Those stands are way too expensive to have fit and finish issues like those.

Hard pass.

Well,
This was over 4 years ago.
I dont want to shit on a company's rep because I had issues.

I'd hope they got the simple programming (Made on a CNC router) done to bring quality up to snuff

I built my own out of hard maple that are fairly similar. If you have some basic tools and woodworking skills it's a petty simple build. Just a couple of sides and some rails connecting them.

I didn't like the idea of dowel pins connecting the top and bottom rack so I used metal brackets instead. And instead of cutting the U shaped grooves I used those coated tool hooks.

Another thing I did was make a rack specific for Explorer style guitars. The back rail sits higher than the front rail to better match the shape. I use some strap buttons and paracord to keep them from sliding off.

I have the tools and skill, what I lack is the time and motivational aspects at the present🤣🤣🤣

Very nice build though! Love it!

I have the 3 of the Alpha 7s, probably for about 7-8 years. Bought them directly from Doug, who is a very cool and laid back guy. His Kauer guitars are something special. Some of the foam neck cradles have come unglued, but I just used a stronger glue to put them back. No issues with keeping nitro guitars like Gibsons. I had a piece break when we moved from California to Nebraska, and Doug sent me a replacement free of charge.
