i was wondering if anyone had any decent clips of a diamont nitrox, i checked you tube and net musicians, but i was hoping somebody hear might have something...they seem like a good toned amp ,but never hear them mentioned

 no one, im sure they sold more amps ,than to just zolton, clint from sevendust and the guy from dope

the guy that started diamond amps stole a few designs off of suhr amplification, there was a big blowup over at HCAF about it.

if you search the forum here, you will find a topic about diamond amplifiers mentioning this.

I bought my Splawn from BluesCityMusic. The guy there was awesome. He sells all Diamond Amps, and he didn't speak too fondly of their tone for some reason.

yea i remember, there was something not to long ago that got brought up, and if i remember correctly there was some heat thrown his way about it

Seems like I remember hearing they are comparitively unreliable, and get lost in the mix. The clips I've heard sounded decent (not great), although less metalz than I expected.

the clips on you tube, of zolton of five finger backstage sounded huge, but he also tunes to b

There is a lot to the Diamond story and not all of it is so good. Also, I personally think their amps sound like a 9lb. bag of dicks.

I sure think they look cool though. Pretty hard to deny them that.

looks =/= tone

especially when you stole something from someone else who was a partner and failed to make something decent from it.

stealing is not engineering. stealing is the lowest of the lows - i give no credit to diamond amplifiers. id purchase from John even if it meant paying more if i wanted the diamond tone - John could do it quite easily. Diamond amps pulling off a Suhr amplifier? a cold day in hell.

But didn't Diamond work with John Suhr before either one of them had their own amps though? Stealing is a super bitch move, I agree, but sounds like you're assuming an awful lot. You probably don't know exactly how it all went down. I doubt many people here were. The fact is, 90% of guitar amps are either based off a Marshall or Fender circuit, so there is a whole hell of a lot of stealing going on.

do the research yourself if you would like, im passing information along. whether or not you, or anyone else, wants to believe it is all on your own shoulders. but John himself knows the truth - he is also a member on the forum, over at TGP, and is a lurker. message him if you want more insight. i dont need anymore insight - a few trusted members from the HCAF erra of rig-talk witnessed the shitfest unfold right in front of their laps and this has already been discussed once on rig-talk. like i mentioned before in an earlier post in here - search the forum. the search function works great.

i believe they wouldnt be making such accusations for fun?

just my .02 - take if for what its worth.

Sounds pretty brutal to me. Not a tone I would personally go for though.

I saw Keri Kelly live with Alice Cooper last year...he played the Spec-Op (I believe) and had awesome tone. I know nothing of the Suhr story...not cool if it is in fact a rip off of one (or more) of John's proprietary ideas.

Don't know how he (Keri) did it...the Spec-Op is one of the most atrocious amps I have ever had the displeasure of playing or hearing. :bleh:

Their pedals look top notch as far as build quality at least. :dunno: I've been wondering about the amps too. Suhr rip-offs? Hmm, I'll have to look into that. Sucks if it's true.
