I just ordered a Pro Co DIY kit from Sweetwater because they were out of the Monster cable that I desired. Cable and two heavy duty connectors, 14gu wire. My rep said they're pretty popular with live musicians. Any feedback good/bad? Been using Monster Cable my whole life.

I have Pro Co premium cables that are 10+ yrs old and still work flawlessly
Still using the same couple 3 foot 14 gauge Pro Co speaker cables almost all of my life too...

I have Pro co, George L , some Canare patch cables and main 12-15 foot cables too.. Makes no difference to me..
My Pro Co are the oldest cables I have though..

I've used Pro Cos for approx 20 years & they hold up great. Bought a few new ones last year & one failed pretty quick. Customer service was excellent to work with & had a new cable within days of sending the faulty one back.

I used only pro co when I worked at SW, they work awesome

Very cool. Can't wait for it to arrive! I want to do a comparison clip vs. what I am using now, but it will be 3ft Monster vs. 20ft Pro Co. That would be one hell of a thing if the Pro Co sounded better hah.

I just finished building my Pro Co cable and not only does it work and sound great, but next to my old Monster cable it actually sounds bigger and fuller in the low end. By comparison the Monster speaker cable seems to have a buildup of gunky midrange. Almost like it is EQing the signal through it. Must have something to do with those "time-correct" windings. I guess I do not prefer it.

funny how speaker cables can sound noticably different from each other

I am using mostly pro-co speaker cables, they work great. I have their power plus 14-2. I haven't done much with speaker cable comparisons though.

I also have never owned any monster guitar or pro audio gear.
