Ahhh, excellent point. I had an '85 Baretta 8 or 9 years ago and it had that weird scarf joint where the headstock and the neck were joined...

I remember somewhere that the ESP custom shop in NYC was making necks and some bodies for Kramer for a short time. Most bodies and necks were made by ESP in Japan, among others and assembled in NJ.This was for he USA models anyway. I have 8 80's Kramer necks (down from 12) a few being NOS. The profiles are all over the place on them.

I think a bit later than 85. By 1990 almost all the higher end guitars were ESP parts and any guitar made for a pro was put together with Warmoth parts. The only things made in the Neptune factory after 1989 or so were the Spector bass and guitars.
I'm not sure exactly when they started importing necks and bodies, but even the stuff that was made from ESP parts were pretty nice guitars. The Nightswans for example were cool guitars, for the time.

I've always wanted a true NO BOZO's Baretta, very nice. If I didn't already own more than enough guitars I'd seriously get one. Being that a nice Pacer was $600.00 in 1984 when I bought mine that price isn't too bad.
I never cared for the D shaped necks compared to the 12" radiused C shaped neck Kramer used from 1982 through 1984 were peak years form Kramer IMO haivng owned and 86/89 Pacers as well. Both my Pacer Imperials are C serial numbered with poplar bodies and nice necks shapes and the earlier one has all black harware, probably using up the black sutff from the Carrera build models.
The only guitar that came close was my 2001 EBMM axis everything else I built myself from Warmoth and Musikiraft

1984 Baretta was actually the No Bozo. It had the longer Hockey stick headstock,those are considered the Holy Grail and go for $3-$4K. Surprised they didn't run them instead of 85's. 1985 and later are pretty common.

Not all of them...Tom Anderson personally built necks for numerous artist guitars (including the hockey stick neck that was on Frankie for a time). IIRC he built necks for Elliott Easton, Richie Sambora, Vivian Campbell, and a few others.danyeo":2x5ygc25 said:
