Anybody Wet/Dry with cheapo solid state amp?

I can do this right now with an EH magnum.44 pedal and a line out from a hotplate into an additional cab but wonder if you guys like the sound of a cheapo solid state combo amp (with some wattage and proper speaker)like a transtube or similar for effects? I have a loop in one amp, but the other has a $hit loop or no loop and I want to play those too. I also liked the wet - dry thing, sounds huge compared to one amp with effects. Is it a waste of cash or does it sound good running effects before the preamp and poweramp of the cheapo wet rig?

Building a W/D rig myself.

Pat used a crate powerblock to power his other wet cabinet and it sounded great. Personally I plan to use either QSC or matrix.

I use a mosvalve.

Depends on the setup really i guess?

I've done it with an EHX .22 caliber and thought it sounded great.
