I just love their necks especially the prestige series, every time I play one my hand feels super comfortable. I love the large radius for easy bends and the trems are just awesome.

But I can never end up buying one. I just dislike how they look, I hate the RG horns and the S series isnt much better looking. However the playability for me ranges far above most other brands I have played.

Anyone else like this?

I love RG series' horns and quite sharp edges on the body!!! Best looking superstrat bodystyle, IMO!

Same here! Would it kill them to put out a HSS guitar? Offer some different finishes, and make the current ones better quality? I dont like the necks either. Totally see your point about the RG bodies.

However, the bridges are great, they offer the best 7 strings on the mass markets and they always seem to be set up great.

Overall, this one isnt bad though: http://www.ibanez.com/eg/guitar.aspx?m=S5470

I love the necks and the body style. I'm sick of all the basswood and shitty pickup switches they use.

That is S is nice, but I find the body shape really uncomfortable. I am going guitar shopping tomorrow, I will see what I come back with.

I think I man end with a rg prestige lol.

+1. And I like basswood, too.

Have you tried an SA model? It's the S body style, but with a flat back. You might find that more comfortable.

Same here, love them but not a blinded fanboi as I hate the way the hardware wears so fast and the stock pups. Yeah the switches are also not very good either.

To the OP.............if they play so well for you and you play them well why would the looks be that big of a concern? IF it works it works.

I've always wondered what was up with Ibanez's stock hardware. I love the Edge bridge system, but the pickups/selector switch are always junk.

I never really cared for the look of the RG series, but I generally like Ibanez necks.

The Talman is the model I have played the most, that is probably what I would pick up if I got an Ibanez. I really like the Roadstar II ibanez I got a while back, but ended up selling it. For some reason I always seem to overlook Ibanez

I wish Ibanez would make a new Destroyer model. Such a cool looking guitar (NOTB-era Maiden, anyone?).

Ibanez should definitely not stop making the RG series but some Standard strat bodies would be cool too, like how there Roadstar guitars looked. I thought those were pretty cool. But to me the RG is a Ibanez staple and they should keep it going. It seems like the pickups they used for years were shitty in the RG's though.

Oh, I'm positive they will never stop making RG's. The RG is THE Ibanez guitar.

I agree though, I would like to see a reissue of the Roadster model. Some more classic strat-style guitars, just to widen the selection a little bit. Ibanez offers some awesome options on their guitars, but they just don't have that large of a selection.

I'd love to find one of those old Lawsuit Les Paul copies Ibanez made in the 80's for cheap. Sweet guitars.

That's what I keep telling myself, hopefully I will find one tomorrow that blows me away enough to buy it.

I hate their necks  And their pointy body styles

However the RG3120 are decent guitars. No coincidence that they have Mahoganey bodies with maple tops. They sound much better than most Alder superstrats IMHO.

The Lawsuit Ibanez are great the steer clear of the bolt on's. The bodies on those are so weight relieved they are nothing like a real paul. I had one. I'm sure the set neck ones are fine.

I love their necks, Wizard II's are the only necks I can really bond with.. but I hate the body styles and the fact 80% of their guitars are black. What sucks even more is the AANJ neck isn't compatible with other guitar bodies :aww:

I don't like their necks at all. There's nothing there. I'm OK with the bodies but none of them really do much for me.

they probably will again, seems like they put one out every so often, though don't think they've did a set neck one in a long long time?

i'd like to see them do a neck-thru Destroyer with a good trem on it.

but yea, if you dig the Destroyers, pick up one of the DT-200's on ebay for around $200 and upgrade the pickups. i've got two of them, one is good, the other is great and will hold it's own with about anything regardless of price.

I am not too picky on bodywoods, but I really think they should have more varieties of woods. I also can't FUCKING STAND the location/style of the pickup switch. I love my RG565, as it is downright the most comfortable guitar ever for me, as most Ibanezes are with my girly small hands, but it's so fucking bad to the point where I am actually contemplating selling it and getting a Gutierrez with the same specs. I love using the neck-pup, but when I basically have to run a maze with my hand, switch, and get back to pick in time makes me want to punch someone in the FACE!
