A lot of you guys know I'm an 80's metal guy at heart and always will be. But for the last months or so I've been listening to mostly Nevermore and Fear Factory CDs. A little Overkill and Megadeth to. Damn I cannot wait to get my 5150 to Jerrry at FJA. Anyone else have a sudden change in musical taste What did you from to?

Jim

I actually despised most 80's Hard rock/metal except for a few bands...
A long with the new wave stuff of the 80's...
I still keep listening to heavy stuff but I cant help liking some of the catchy hooks of those old songs...

Now I am guilty of having Big Country's song Big Country all the way to Grim Reaper See you in hell

If you are liking Fear Factory I would recommend Soul of a New Machine, Especially the song Scumgrief... Monumental album for that type of music...

It's been a long time coming but I cant do Tesla and Queensryche any more...

I'll turn the channel these days when its something I relate to "classic rock" (meaning, anything I grew up with in the 80's).

Of course, my comment needs to be contextualized with the fact that I've become a political junkie in the last few years and couldnt name a Beiber or Avengefold song to name my life.

All I know is the heavy stuff is doing it for me these days. Love the high gain tones those bands have. Plus Loomis is a total beast!

WE normally play mostly metal......
but this weekend it was all about doing Zepplin tunes....
Couldnt get enough!
So....yeah...I know what you mean.

yeah, in the last 2 months my cover band has been pickup up Quiet Riot, Scorpions, Ratt, Poison, bon Jovi, Iron Maiden, Crue - and I loved all these tunes as a kid. The bass player calls the songs at our gigs and I'm to the point I hate playing all these songs - I didn't realize how much I don't really like them now - usually can't wait until he calls out some Hendrix or the Doors or Zep or Cream - been thinking it might be time for a new cover band.

Yup... It's been alot of In Flames/Soilwork/Scar Symmetry/Solution .45/Dark Tranquility/Arch Enemy in the car for the last couple YEARS!!! LOL! :D

Going from metal to metal isn't exactly a huge change in musical taste.

Well I was listening to a lot of Joe Bonamassa and ZZ Top and other blues based stuff to the other day I had to pop in some Nevermore myself followed by some Shinedown. :)

I think it's just you need to change gears and keep it fresh. I'll always love Slayer but am really a 70's hard rock guy at heart. I'll go from Entombed to Y&T to Missing Persons to Cactus all in one trip to the local Supermarket. I love it all.

Around '89-'90 I got to the point that I couldn't stand the hard rock/metal bands of the 80's that had been my favorites. For most of the 90's it was Led Zep, Pink Floyd, Jeff Beck, Hendrix, Stones, and a lot of funk and blues. Now I listen to it all.

Dino recorded fear factory with a cameron marshall, but it was stolen later on when he was on tour.

I knew he had a "special" Marshall that was stolen but I didn't know it was a Cameron mod.

Dino's Marshall that was stolen was modded by a guy named Metalhead.. That is what I remember reading... And the reason why he was never able to get a replacement because he couldnt locate the guy...
