Anyone else have trouble keeping velcro sticking to pedals?

I keep noticing that the velcro doesn't want to stay stuck on to my pedals. Some pedals are fine, while others reject the adhesive on the velcro. Do any of you come across this, and if so, how do you keep your pedals confidently secured to your board?

Thanks.

I know what you mean, on certain plastic type bases (digitech models say or boss) , the velcro has trouble staying on, here's my fix :

put gaffa on the bottom of the pedal to form a base, and cut it so it's also overlapping and holding onto the sides of of the pedal not just the base of the pedal if that makes sense, and then put the velcro strip on top of it

in a horrible bad mobile phone pic which is easier to understand, on a digitech digidelay pedal where plastic+velcro just don't mix , the velcro stays on solid now

(i'll just add that's burn not blood marks on the floor lol)

Thanks man. It is totally annoying. I'll try your advice out when I get the chance.

i know what you mean, i think every digitech pedal i've had til now suffered from it (the hardwire model especially) and a bunch of the boss pedals, this has been the only solution i've found til now that seems to work, it's not pretty but then again the digitech digidelay ain't no work of art either ;)

#1. Wipe down with rubbing alcohol right before sticking.

#2. Talk to Lublin here on the forum. He makes FX-DEX. They're replacement bottoms for many popular pedals, made out of aircraft aluminum. Once the velcro is stuck to that, it ain't NEVER coming off.

I don't have my hardwire RV7 in front of me, but when you bought it you could choose to put the rubber pad on the bottom or the velcro. If you choose the velcro it works great.

I have had trouble with some pedals, particularly my danelectro fish and chips EQ. The Tape idea looks like a good one. will have to try the rubbing alcohol as well.

Thanks, Nick.

I, too, had a serious problem securing Boss and wah pedals to my board so I designed and developed FX Dex. They're only available for Boss and Dunlop/Vox wah pedals as of right now. I just finished my first Ibanez/Maxon prototype the other day and it worked out awesome.

There are cheaper alternatives, as mentioned (and will be mentioned) in this thread, but FX Dex are the end all. Rock solid adhesion that doesn't fail.

i've got the fish and chips eq as well, the gaffa works well on that too, was a nightmare when i first got it

i just stuck gaffa tape on the bottom without overlapping on the sides which also works fine it seems

I use the 3M velcro, and that is really sticky, and doesn't come off of my pedals. for boss type pedals, I just take off the rubber thing on the bottom and stick the velcro right to the pedal.
