Barkmarket was 1 of those 90's bands that escaped me SOMEHOW til just recently .. . Although they're pretty obscure for guys on this forum , any fans know what Dave used for guitar amps? I'd guess wicked loud Twins/JMP's but no idea. . Holy crap everything is recorded SO great, SO raw , and such great guitar tones. . Definitely reminds me of Michael Landau Raging Honkies tonewise and rawness-wise, but more creative music.

ha, no more time to research as need to head out to 1st band practice of the year, BUT I was amused in finding a reference that said Billy Gibbons was actually inspired by them due to their sensational guitar tones and recordings.. cool. . . low A . . hmmmm

I was into them because of his association with Paige Hamilton. Dave was a good engineer/producer and definitely got good sounds.

They were a great live band. What is Dave Sardy doing now? Still producing?

Love what he did for Slayer's cover record. I think he also produced an Orange 9mm record that sounds amazing. Super punchy and in your face. Like he takes Andy Wallace's approach and amp's it to 10+.

Yes. Barkmarket is fuckin amazing.

This:

You have to wait about a minute before they drop the fattest riff of the nineties all over your ass, but it's worth it.

He used Music Man amps, no distortion pedals, he used EQ pedals for his boosts and dirt sounds.

Played those aluminum neck guitars, forgot the brand.

All the records have some really happenin guitar on them.

And Dave Sardy is a genius.

WOW, Music Man amps huh? I always wanted 1 just to be different , way back when! I had a few friends who had them back in the late 70's. TRAVIS BEAN were Aluminum Neck guitars.. I bet that's what you mean!!!! OTherwise Kramer made a model too! VERY COOL info thanks. ... And yes you're right all the records have great guitar riffs and tones on them , and from what I can tell from all the people he's produced AND is producing yep he must be a genius! . . . Thanks u other guys as well for posting
