Anyone ever ordered a pickup from Arcane?

I ordered one the 5th of March through a dealer. Weds will be 13 weeks since I ordered. Mar 27th, Rob told the dealer "two more weeks"....that was over 10 weeks ago. That was also the last word either of us got as to the status. Apparently, Rob hasn't replied to the dealer's emails and I personally have sent multiple inquiries myself that have apparently gone ignored.

Absolutely ridiculous, and a total shit way to treat what could have been a repeat customer. As it is...I'm cancelling my order. Period.

I don't blame you a bit. There's too many choices these days to fucking around with shit like that.

The thing is, a 15 second email could've alleviated all this bullshit. I guess since I'm not Phil X I'm not worth the trouble.

I've had friggin' handwired combo amps built and delivered in half the time...and also by a "one man operation" so that's hardly an excuse. It just boils down to shitty, shitty customer service...and a great way to lose business.

I file a claim in a hot second. I don't care what it's for. I request refund in 24 hours. If it doesn't happen I file. Not playing with anyone's nonsense. If it's Paypal I never let anything get much past 30 days unless it is agreed upon. At that point I will not go more than 40 days. Credit card charge back is easy as well. The only time I ever broke my rule was with the initial run of CCV's and they delivered. It's another thing if a seller has a proven record like Suhr, Anderson, and a slew of others. No reputation, I file.

I've contacted the dealer about switching my order. I don't hold him in any way responsible. He's done all he can do, and I've dealt with him in the past and had nothing but stellar experiences before. Part of why I posted this is because it's really not fair to him to have to be the earpiece for the manufacturer's shortcomings. The other is the guitar community is far too small online to treat customers like crap and not expect the word to get out.

That's too bad, there are so many company's that try to save a buck by doing everything themselves, including customer service. If you don't have the patience to deal with the public to sell your wares, at least invest in a good salesperson to represent your company. There is too much competition to lose customers just because you think that you have an indispensable product.

Arcane by definition means "mysterious." Duh. A mysterious pickup...maybe they don't even exist...like Unicorns. Now there's a name for pickups! You can get the Unicorn Super Pointy Twist bridge pickup! Twisted rail humbucking rare middle earth magnet!

Sorry, I could not resist. Had a rough week and needed a laugh!

I can only assume you missed that part of my post...but I have made numerous attempts to contact Arcane directly to no avail...both through his online contact form and direct emails. I've gotten zero replies. I didn't come here out of some knee-jerk reaction....I've been patiently waiting for three months and now my patience has run out. I'm glad you've had a different experience, but I feel like nothing I've said here is in any way inaccurate. I've deliberately attempted to leave the dealer out of it as much as possible and relate what I personally have experienced...and that is a string of unanswered queries as to the status of my order. What else would you have me to do? Just sit quietly and wait indefinitely on someone who is seemingly unwilling to address my concerns because YOU had a different experience?

If my experience IS due to being given the runaround by the dealer, I'd be glad to issue a full apology, but since I can't get so much as an acknowledgement from Arcane, I have nothing else to go on.

That was the email I'd been using. I got it from the Arcane website. But....actually, just about an hour ago I finally got a reply from Rob via the Arcane FB page...which I had also contacted him on. He said he'd gotten more orders than he could comfortably fill and was backed up, couldn't keep up with emails, and things of that nature. Said he has plans to complete my dealer's order in "the next couple of weeks."

Thanks... I hope so too. I didn't come on here just to bash the dude and sling shit, but when something drags on and on in the manner it had been going, you get frustrated and angry and start to look at the possibility that you just might be getting screwed.

You have been overly patient! He has pulled the number one NO NO when running a business.

Thanks! I thought so too. If you are overwhelmed and unable to keep up (which is a FAR more preferable situation to the alternative) the last thing you should do is the "ostrich maneuver."
