I bought a pickup from the online vendor Music Toyz but have not gotten any detqs about the order, shipping or anything.
I emailed them and tried calling to no avail. Are they legit? Anyone heard of them or gotten any gear from them?

I've bought from them a couple of times a few years ago. One time I met the dude on location when I lived in Maine to do a trade. He was a funny dude. He wasn't the best with contact back then either, but he came through in a reasonable time from what I recall.

Ok thanks! It's a small company run by one dude?
I'm not sure if he's the only employee or not, but it was always the same guy I spoke to and he talked like he ran the joint. It didn't really have a store front either, so it was definitely an online dealer when I dealt with them. In the section I was in they had a bunch of gear in their boxes on some racks. It wasn't a huge place, but they certainly had quite a bit more gear than your typical mom and pop store. Either 2014 or 2015 was my last dealings with them, so it's been a while. Did you at least get some sort of automatic confirmation email after you ordered?

Thanks man, yes I got an automated confirmation. Nothing beyond that.
I had questions about the order like pickup legs length, type of nickel cover, but could never reach anyone.

I know Teddy since the early 90's. Not only does he run Music Toyz, he runs and builds Tru Fi fuzz pedals. He is extremely busy. As an alternate contact try him at Tru Fi.

Thanks.
Odd he's available there but not Music Toyz.
Thank you.

Thanks, I heard from Teddy!

Any suggestions on what to do if I get no where? Frustrated.

What can I do to just get a refund? I doubt I'll ever get the pickups and now I'm out $150 for nothing. I've never experienced anything like this. What a joke. :(

Wow! I just googled musictoyz to see if they were still in business and came upon this thread. I dealt them way back when they were called gaspedal.com. They were small and the owner (I can't remember his name) was cool and even repaired and modded a TS9 for me for free. I bought a bunch of stuff from them. Then he expanded and became musictoyz and I had a major problem when he double dipped my bank account for a pedal I bought. I got my money back with a lame excuse as to how it happened but I sensed he was going public and was inflating his financials with some sketchy moves. I stopped dealing with him over that. This was possibly over 15 years ago. Seems like they (I don't know if it's still owned by the original guy) have gotten worse with their shenanigans.

Never again.

Purchased and paid for a new pedal from Music Toyz on Reverb; after three business days and not even a label printed or message, I sent them/him a message, no response; contacted Reverb support - completely useless and a waste of time.

Still didn't ship 10 days after my paid order and no response from Music Toyz, or Reverb support's "investigation" so I requested a refund. Within minutes I get a notification that the shipping label was printed, and he denied my request for refund saying "thats in route".

Contacted Reverb Support again, and they said it shows as shipped nothing they can do.

I won't be buying anything from Music Toyz again, hopefully I'll get the actual pedal in the brand new condition as stated on Reverb. Don't expect Reverb support to do anything but waste your time.
