Dibs when you sell it! :D

Have you guys tried the Danelectro CTO yet? There are 2 versions of it now and I have read a few threads that it's very similar to the Tim. Yeah I know but supposedly its a great pedal and for 40 bucks it may be worth a try.

I have a V1 CTO and it lives on my board. I have never tried a real Tim and bought this before I heard about all of the morality issues being debated over it.

I use it with the volume up and the gain down as a boost for leads. I like it a lot. I also have the Drive pedal that is supposed to be the OCD clone I believe. Set up the same way, I think that the Drive has a touch more boost and is brighter than the TOD. Both work as advertised and sound great to me.

After reading how they ripped Paul off, it will be a cold day in hell before any Dano pedals darken my pedalboard. They make Behringer look good by comparison.

I have both. The Timmy seems to have a little more gain and a very tiny bit more compression than the Tim. I use the Timmy with stock Marshalls and the Tim with my Cameron modded Marshalls.

I would only choose the Tim (over the Timmy) because it has more options. FWIW, I changed out the op-amps in both pedals from the JRC4559 to the JRC4558. The 4558 is less bright. It is not a drastic change though.

thats helpful Thanks

Haven't seen any of that, but thanks for the info. Sounds like this is one company that needs no support.

What they did was not anywhere near up to my level of ethical standards but I bought these before I knew about all of the copying stuff and then just decided to keep them instead of letting them make their way around the country being sold for a profit.

I still find it hard to believe that no legal action could be taken.

The Tim or the Wizard?

I use the Timmy for a blues drive with the clean channel on the SLO with KT66s. . I only have the gain around 10 o'clock. I use the Tim on the clean of the SLO with =C= 6l6s for a more classic rock type tone. Gain around 11 o'clock, unboosted. (settings changed since the pics) The channel here is already set to a break up setting, the Tim just pushes it into classic territory. I find both keep the character of the amp, very transparent with this set up. I kept going back and forth and this is just what worked for me. I like the Timmy with the KTs better, and the Tim with the 6l6s more. This combo was the best at giving me the tone I wanted while maintaining the character of the amps, not really adding it's own thing - which I didn't want.

I don't think they sound the same. But *gulp* there are times in that video where i don't like the high end of the Timmy. For $40 it doesn't exactly get blown off the pedal board there.
