I heard they are awesome for tracking guitars, and for live use as well. Anyone have anything to say about them? I am really wanting to pull the trigger on a pair of them.

That's the preferred mic of Lonnie Totman. . .former EVH tech. They are actually kick drum mics, but they sound great on guitar cabs.

Great mic, actually two mics in one, so it does indeed take up two channels at the board.

Have any of you guys had personal experience using one? I would want to use it for recordings mainly, but will love to have it for live use down the road when I do get back to the states and can invest in a PA again!!!

Sevendust toured with them on 4 guitar cabs and kick drum for a while. Sounded great, better than now with the SM57's on their rigs.

That's a crazy amount of inputs. 8 mic inputs plus 2 to 4 DI inputs coming from the guitars for their setup

I saw them live over here on post 2 years ago on the 4th of July. Tone was pretty decent with whatever mics they were using, but I couldnt see.

Yes, but not on guitars. Only on kick, but it was one of the best kick mics I've ever used.

The background is I work for a sound company, (we're an AT dealer) and had one in the shop for a while, for a few events, on demo from AT. The really nice thing is that the dynamic and condenser elements are totally phase aligned, which sounds almost too good. Almost.

I had one in front of my cab on a job a while ago. This was a Metallica tribute, and the sound guy knew that Big Mick uses one for Hetfield.
Sounded really good.
