Hmmm...one just sold here recently. Anyway, who's had one and who's tried one ? Is it all that ? Comparisons to anything ?

I used to have a first year 2150 that kicked ass, would like to try it again with my current setup.

I think it's the greatest power amp ever made. The 2150 is tighter, more compressed, more modern sounding. The Classic is warm, organic and for me perfect. But it's all about taste. I did a side by side with Rob from TM once. He preferred the 2150. Both were really nice. It just depends what tone you are after. I was after the EL34 flavor for my X99. Love it.

I just JUST sent him the same exact message in a PM....LOL that is funny shit.

Thanks. I would think the 2100 would be more compressed due to the EL34s vs. the 6550s or KT88s in the 2150. Interesting.

This may be necro-old but I'm looking to buy one...

I regularly use the classic and 2150 together...The classic is a major heavy hitter loaded w/ 34's.I believe 120 watts per side.Lots of switches/options..very lively, punchy, chimey, and authoritive.Every preamp I run thru the classic sounds and feels like youre playin an amp head..My 2150 has 6550's.

revive this one too.

purchased a chrome face 2100 and am looking forward to cranking it!
