Got some serious gas for this amp. Thinking of unloading some stuff for it.
Wanna hear from folks who play heavy metal and their thoughts.
I currently have a mark iv combo with evm12l and run it into a vertical recto 2x12 for a great tone. Just wondering if it's that much more badass on the heavy stuff?
That shred setting and dual heavy channels, paired with the crystal clean and dual eq's for the leads has me GASSING real hard!!!
Im usually and clean and super dirty player, love lamb of God and Chevelle stuff for mark tones.
This amp just seems to be crazy

No one is going to have it for a little while longer. Mesa is targeting a Mid-March/early April release date but that's not firm and subject to change. It already has changed once since I believe they were initially expected to ship in February.

Ahh. Thanks for update. Last I heard was feb also. Makes sense why no one is talking about it then!!
Gives me time to save I guess

If its like my 2C+ there's a ton of gain available. But because the clean is compromised by adding more gain by maxing out volume 1, I dial vol 1 back for a better clean and using a boost on the lead channel for heavier stuff. If I don't need any clean channel I add the gain back on channel 1 and skip the boost. But the new JP2C has independent channels that don't interact like the originals. Should be plenty enough gain for anyone in this amp. Looking forward to reviews!

The Hollywood boogie store has one to try. Post your video here please!

I had an opportunity to play/listen to one last week. I was very impressed with the sound and feel of the amp. It came off (to me) like a stronger, tighter, less-hairy (he-he) sounding Mark V. Truth be told, I have not heard or played an original IIc+ in person. The one thing that Mesa wanted to make abundantly clear was that the JP2C is a honest-to-God Mark IIC+ based on John's favorite IIC+.

I've owned IIC+'s and a IV at the same time. I thought I could get them pretty damm close. I had a V and sold it in a months time, I liked the IIC', III, and the IV all more than the V.

This new amp's big thing to me is versatility. I seriously think that my current IV I have can sound as good as this new amp if I tweaked it, but of course it doesn't have the versatility.

Mesa is having issues with the PT winding supplier. Going to have to wait a bit longer until they hit the market. However, if you aren't committed already on the presale, you will probably miss the first shipment.

Cool deal, you got the inside scoop.
May buy one from one of the firsties that don't gel with it

My wife couldn't keep the secret any longer. She ordered the limited and a custom 2 x 12 matching cab.
Oh, and the JP-16. :D
Wonderful wife, couldn't wait to surprise.

I like the rack mounted version! Couple that with my Torpedo live in the same rack makes a nice slick setup for me to take in a narrower road case for great FOH tones. Neat! Have to wait for more clips from it.
