Okay, so I got an acoustic last week (NGD when I get my camera back) and since I've always loved fingerstyle like Andy Mckee, Antoine Dufour and so on I decided to start playing.

I learnt "All Laid Back And Stuff" by Andy McKee, it's such a fun song to play! and easier that it seems.

Anyone else play acoustic fingerstyle? I'd like to know more songs to learn in open C (C, G,D,G,A,D)

I do quite a bit. Nothing fancy really, but I use it frequently on electric and acoustic guitar.

same here, I'm not dependent on a pic at all. I'm very confortable with my fingers, on both acoustic and electric.

I do. I write a lot in standard and alternate tunings. Open C? Try some Zep tunes!

I taught myself to play PIMA-style years ago and it was the best thing I did for my acoustic playing.

Now it helps with my electric playing (I can hold the pick in my palm while finger plucking). Cool to switch back and forth (like Mark Tremonti)

I do, I play a lot of fingerstyle tapping. I enjoy Justin King rather than Andy Mckee

I mostly play stuff in DADGAD, but also in CGCGGC. Fun stuff!

this is me

I actually started out with a country teacher who taught me a boat load of finger playing styles. For years I wished I had a hardcore rock guy and eventually found that teacher. Now a appreciate so much what he taught me. I love the acoustic playing.

Yes.

I used to play a lot of it: Leo Kottke, Michael Hedges, Steve Howe, some flamenco, etc. Less so know.

Lots of different open tunings from conventional to Hedges tunings like CCDGCC or something similar for Ritual Dance. I can't remember exactly at this particular moment.

That was GREAT!

I started studying classical in 1976. If you are playing blues (thumb, index) Bluegrass roll (thumb, middle, index) Classical with the ring or some Jazz with all five the tone and control is just better than with a pick. Picks have there place with a different attack and the ability to do certain things.

That was fantastic playing man. :)

I started out as a bass player so finger style acoustic seemed like a logical thing to me. I keep an acoustic next to my desk at work, I probably play that more than electric these days.
