Currently using a Nova System but it doesn't have enough preset locations for me. Thinking of switching to an M13 to use in Scene mode, so I'll have 12 presets. How transparent is this unit? Once the Nova is tweaked, it's pretty transparent, can the M13 get there?

Also, does anybody know if you can change what number MIDI Program Change goes out per Scene? I need 3 different PCs to switch the channels on my 5150III 50w and I'm not sure if I can do this with the M13 which would be a big shame. It seems like they send out 0-11 and that's it? Oh, and does it send CCs too? Need those to switch my FX loop in and out.

I couldn't get it to do what i want with midi and thats why I got rid of it a few years ago. They did have an update for midi but not sure if it addressed those issues. I had no problems with the tone and do not remember it being transparent or not. Use to have the G system at the same time and preferred the M13. I have a L6 Pro HD rack unit coming in the mail this week for the effects. :D

I had an M13 for several years and a couple of times had some glitches but it finally died on me. I liked some of the sounds and some I didn't like the drives and some of the delay's. I really liked how it functioned though especially using it 4CM and it was dead quiet. That said IMHO it should have lasted a lot longer. So I just got a used Nova System that I'll give a go. Yes I'm giving up some functions but with the NS in the front of my amp and my AxeFX Standard in the loop..... I'm more than covered.

I have one and use it quite a bit. Its not my only pedalboard so I dont use it exclusively but have used it alot and never had any problems. I hvae heard people mention reliability but for me thats not been an issue. I had a squeaky switch once and some 3 in 1 oil fixed that.

I dont use the midi functions so I cant comment on that.

I use mine in 4CM with any one of different heads. You have 4 folders now so that will quadrouple your 12 scenes. Or you can have one pedalboard for each of your heads if you have several. I use mine as the "brains" of my rig so to speak. Besides the FX you have tuner, looper, can assign (program) volume pedals anywhere in the chain, as well as noise suppressor, etc. I think the chorus, delays, reverbs are good enough for me. I have one scene programmed as everything off so that is a kill switch for me as well. One trick I use is program a vol pedal before amp input and set it for 2/3rds or so. This is like a programmed vol knob adjustment on your guitar but just one tap of the foot and it is the same level all the time. Also takes 2 expression pedals which you can assign however you want. Loop is assignable per scene as well now. i.e. 1fx, loop, 3fx or 2fx, loop, 2fx or 3fx, loop, 1fx.

Its a pretty good all-in-one unit. Its a bit large and heavy but so be it.

I wanted to put it on a pedal tray in my rack and use midi with my Ground control pro. Wouldn't pull up the effects They way I wanted.

What issues did you run into?

Midi numbers only pulled up a few factory patches. Couldn't get midi cc# assigned to each effect. They might have updated that issue. The effects were/are great. I bought the L6 pod Pro HD because I was getting some cool effects from the M13 that a cant seem to get with the Axe2. Luv the stomp pedal style and was easy to tweak and get quick satisfaction where as the AFX II takes longer to achieve. I sold my Axe2 and jumped on the list again so I will have time to mess with the L6 which seems easier to program. The two paired together should be sweet.
