Maybe some of my RigTalk brothers and sisters know of a resource I don't. Since I left Maine and moved back to Tennessee (not quite home, but very close) I had some things to get done around the place before I was ready to start the hunt. My cousin has been putting the feelers out to his friends/colleagues in the security sales field, but nothing is quite available yet.

I owned and operated a small bread route business for 4.5 years, being sole entity of the business, and worked for myself before buying one to manage them for other guys so they could take vacations, sick time, etc for close to 20 years before buying in myself. So I have a background in what would probably be considered inside sales. I also worked at Guitar Center as a sales representative for a few years a while back, though I'm not sure that really even counts lol I also have a tech background, as I used to run a computer repair/sales shop and do quite a bit of hobby electronics work modifying game consoles, soldering in components, etc. In Maine, I worked for the same bread company, though as an employee. I mostly traveled the state managing routes and training guys on how to do the job.

If anyone knows of a good site that has job opportunities for remote work, I'm all ears.

Maine....plenty of work for hippe, tree-hugging fruitcakes. Not so much for normal folk.

I made damn good money in Maine, but the local managers were lazy sacks of lying shit, and the local decisions were made by the same type of people and I just couldn't jive with some of the borderline illegal stuff they were doing, so I had to quit. There were no other readily available jobs in the area that would've paid enough to offset the higher cost of living up there and that was a big factor on why I moved back to Tennessee. Plus, the food sucked lol

When someone tells me "remote work" I think about catching gators, frogs, and crawdads somewhere deep in a Louisiana swamp or just cutting firewood way back in the rhubarb someplace.

Good luck with your job hunt Matt, I'll keep your success in my prayers.

The tree hugging cunts that inhabit that shithole cost me a ton of money with their red tape.

I would have recommended the federal government but that’s over with apparently. Mofo’s have been on home duty status since covid.

Let me know what you find Matt.
I'm in a similar situation but have not really tried yet.
Semi retired and now bored out of my mind.
I don't want to work for a big company and would prefer working for myself.

I too have about 25 years in tech (sales and consulting mostly)
I have a good friend who runs a bread route (I don't like those hours)
Always wanted to work at Guitar Center when I was younger but not so much now

When you say "Remote" I am assuming on your computer, at home, on your internet connection?
When you say "Sites", do you mean you are looking for job search sites or companies with job openings?
There are some jobs out there.

1. What is your core skill set?
2. Have you run your resume through an online free AI resume reader? If not go to resumeworded.com
3. Are you on LinkedIn? This is a great way to network. Paying the $30 a month for Premium may be worth it. Sign up to groups.
4. Not sure about Tennessee but some states have really good job search tools.
5. Consider a job search firm/career counselor.

The resume reader thing def helped me. I thought I had a kick ass resume but when I put it through their ranking system I got like 17% on the effective scale. Then I followed their recommendations (all predetermined of course) and now I'm closer to 80%.

Best of luck,
