Anyone like chickin pickin?

I love metal ... but I have to admit that I'm a closet country/rockabilly chickin picker. I just love that snappy finger style rhythm with a tele or Gretsch through a Fender. Anyone else want to fess up? :)
 
yeah dude, I'm from the south. It's always been a big part of growing up

I do it all the time but in a rock context. Its faster and easier than alternate picking IMO.
 
Check out Brent Hinds from Mastodon. He's a chicken picker for sure. "Aqua Dementia", "Capillarian Crest", a part in "Megalodon" and I think "Pendulous Skin" has some of it too. Great chicken pickin' in a rock/metal context. :thumbsup:
