Anyone order a headshell from Mesa?

Thinking about ordering a headshell for a Mark IV, got a combo, and want the option of running it as a head as well...

Anyways if you have what were the costs? Experience with their customer service?

Never did this personally, but If I remember correctly, the mesa head shells are quite expensive. There was a cheaper alternative but I can't remember the company.

they quoted me some insane price for a rectoverb. take a pic/ measure it and contact tiffany at www.lopoline.com
they can dup for less than half the price. (apprx )

Just got a price on one for a Dual Rectifier that was damaged in shipping to me and it was $319 and it takes 3-4 weeks.

Ya I called Mesa once it was around $300, which I thought was to high for what I wanted. It would have come with new fan and new reverb installed . There was a guy on the mesa forum that used to build them that I was going to look up but never did. Someone on here I think had one built and a matching 1x12. I think it was white Tolex you might find the thread if you search.

I did this. Headshells, as of one year ago, start off at $350 a piece. The price goes up from there is you want custom color combinations. I ordered a custom headshell for my Roadster that cost me $500, with shipping (minus the reverb tank, since I already had one). There is a $150 up charge from the $350 for any colored tolex, not including leather and anything embossed.

I had the guy from the Boogie board build me one for my Mark IV. His name is George (GTS) His work is impeccable and he was great to work with. He charges like $250 for a basic head shell and prices go up depending on options.

Oh, and I got a headshell from Mesa once. Around $300, I was happy with it.

+ on for gts on the boogie board, great work. Another option is Swanson Custom Cabinets, he built my Roadster headshell and it is beautiful, dovetailed joints and all!!!
