Anyone own/played a Fender Blues Jr or Bassbreaker?

I've been thinking of picking up a Fender Blues Jr. or Bassbreaker and was wondering what you guys think of either amp? I'm planning on using it with pedals so not too worried about the stock crunch sounds, etc. I'm mostly interested in the following:

- Great with pedals
- Nice clean tone for bluesy stuff
- Great overall Fender tone

I own an Axe-Fx II and Friedman ASM-12 so not trying to go overboard. I've already got a good tone so looking mostly for a great platform for pedals. I've heard that the Bassbreaker is not as good as the BLues Jr. for cleans but have never played either.

I think I'm just going to have to play both in person and see what is up. I've heard folks say one is cleaner than the other but also heard that the 15w Bassbreaker is better than the 7w.

Go to a store and try both.

There are a bunch of mods to do to the BJ for under $90. Fromel electronics have upgraded caps, reverb mod, eq mod and bias mod. Some suggest a speaker swap depending on which one you get. I have a V30 in mine.

I have a USA '95 Blues Jr and did all the mods myself. It was a good amp before but now a great amp. Loud for 15w. I run all my pedals through it and it is great with them. Also run it stereo from the TC alter ego v2 with the Mesa MkIII.

Traded my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe III for $100 and the Blues Jr. Best trade for me. I don't miss the crappy overdrive channel or effects loop.

I filmed the promos for the new Fender Elite Strats for the fine folks at Fender. We mic'd up a Bassbreaker all day, I think they are great amps for what they are...
