Some of those Kranks always intrigued me, mostly just to try one and see what they were all about. There is a somewhat local guy selling one of the original Chadwicks (the single channel) for what looks like a pretty good price and I was just curious since I never really heard much about the Chadwicks.

I think they are decent products. Their marketing killed them. But I've never played one so it's all imo.....

Yeah, just naming them "Krank" was kinda doomed to fail.

But yeah, Krank amps were solid-sounding and decently built.

With this being a production amp, it doesn't seem like this would be an issue....but do those speaker jacks look uneven to you guys? I asked him what tubes and transformers were in it, hoping he'd be able to look in the back and see if it had the Mercury Magnetics with a label on the iron but he doesn't seem too interested, he just wants me to come look at it and try it out and see for myself, but I'm 2 hours away.

Did those come with Mercury stock?

I know the later Revs and Krankensteins came with Schumacher.

If the tubes are stock, then those came with Sovtek 5881's and Ruby Shuguang 12AX7's.

From what I've gathered over the last hour or so that some of the first ones did, but I'm not sure if those were always used or on just some of the very first ones because they had something ready to go he could use for production.

I’m 60% sure that that’s how they were designed….90% of the time.

For some reason I thought crank made people more detail oriented.

Must've been some bad crank.
