I can't remember the last time I picked one up. Used to be totally consumed with guitar mags back in the day. Just haven't had the desire to pick one up anytime recently.

I still get them. I subscribed to a few awhile back for like a 3 yr sub, a majority of them have just been sitting on my bathroom floor

I've always thought of subscribing to one, I've bought one or two, but I get so much more better information and entertainment from Rig-Talk and HCAF

I read this, but it`s swedish, and they don`t accept VISA or Paypal, so I just buy it in the store.
If I could pay them in a decent manner, I`d subscribe tomorrow.

You play Satch Boogie while playing a dump?
Groovy!!

i still read them from time to time. i pretty much only collect the EVH ones ... so i will look on ebay and buy old issues or something, but i dont typically buy the new ones .... it has gotten to be the same old shit ...

I take a gander at the guitar magazines if I'm browsing through a bookstore, and I've been reading the same stack of Guitar Worlds for probably 5-6 years. I wouldn't mind getting subscriptions to some magazines if they didn't cost so much these days. They get their money from advertisement, not subscribers, so why does it have to be so expensive? I also grab yearly catalogs for various brands from music stores when I see them.

I prefer reading Young Guitar if I'm going to read a magazine.

I have about four milk crates full of GW's. Still buy them too. But they are getting more and more stale as the years pass. I like the interviews and gear reviews though.
I just threw away a few bags of misc. guitar mags last weekend. Tired of holding on to them.

I have boxes and boxes of them dating back to 1985.

Was thinking about dumping them on Ebay.

Same problem here. I probably have close to 350 guitar magazines from the 80's and 90's. Nowhere to keep them. I rarely buy new ones, but I did pick up the recent Premier Guitar magazine and I have to say I really like it. They do a good job of not being "cork sniffy", but also don't pander to mainstream trends.

Yeah, I think alot of that devotion to magazines was cause it was our main source back in the day... A number of online sources With videos are available now, so it's sort of like how Blockbusters goin outa business due to Netflix... Print media has had to give way, I think...
Besides, I aint heard alot in the last few years making me want to run right out an pick up the tab for it...

I would encourage some of you to start following the content at MusicPlayers.com. We are purely focused on gear for serious musicians and pro-level players. We publish the most in-depth reviews of pro gear of any publication in print or online. Everyone who writes for us is an actual pro musician with stage and studio credits. And rather than publish lessons, we publish tutorials on advanced topics for performing musicians, like understanding rack gear, MIDI foot controllers, studio miking techniques, etc.

And our content is free! Get an iPad and you can read us on the toilet just like the print magazines! :)

wow you weren't joking, you do have in depth tutorials! reading the Micing Electric Guitar article right now, very good stuff!

I'll buy a good one if I find it but don't subscribe anymore. The last really good one was the Guitar Player with Friedman, Pete Cornish and Bradshaw talking about building rigs and pedalboards. I still crack that one open now and then for information.

I subscribe on and off if I get a good deal.
Usually can pick up a year special for about $12.00
not bad for a $1.00 a piece for each mag.
