Im finding this unit to be such a great bargain for the prices they are going for now. I have gotten as far as setting it up with a midi footswitch to change to my custom presets on settings 251 and up. Now I need to learn how to control effects parameters and all that good stuff like the A/B functioning. Can anyone here help out with this and give me some insight? That manual is a tough read!!! I did however figure out how to do effects routing which was cool.

Yup, I have 3, to last me a lifetime hopefully. The greatest multi-effect box ever made! The first thing you need to know is make sure you have the upgraded rom, version 1.0 is the original, I think the upgrade is 1.1. I've actually got two heads sharing one box (mono to each head) took me a year to get it set up that way but now I can run effects before either head or in each of their loops. There's nothing the G2 won't do, and as far as I know, is the only box ever made that will allow you to adjust the bypass level during preset changes so the volume doesn't jump. My buddy runs a g-force, and when he contacted TC about the volume jumping during preset changes, they said he needed to buy a second one! To pre-load the upcoming preset to it before switching to it. Ha! that's rich...

I had an MPX G2, but let it go. Probably should have kept it.

Still have my MPX 1 too.

Hey I also have a RX1 foot controller if anyone is interested.

Good luck.

I figured I would post this mans website here. He is very helpful in many ways because he is a part of the old team of guys who built this effects unit. He sells updated EPROM chips that carry the 1.1 firmware for like $80. He also sells the internal batteries that keep personal presettings stored. Keep in mind, these units are approaching the decade mark, and you don't want to risk flipping power on one day to realize your hard earned presets don't exist anymore.

This forum has been a lifesaver! I love my MPX G2 (been using it with the JMP 1 since 2001) but been having some issues lately, so the Stec Records link was wicked valuable. One question (for today anyway): Stec only had dumping available to a pc, but I did some poking around and ran across this site: http://miprosoft.com/mpxg2/ Have any of you visited? Seems pretty hip... I'll keep you posted, and Thanks Again for being here!

I still use mine too. Love it. The only thing that I've considered replacing it with is a vintage revolution pedalpro, but at $2k plus, I just haven't been able to muster the budget to do it.

Nice necro-promotion mate

I think a few folks over at HRI use it. Lexicon is a big name in the rack effects world.
