Anyone try 6ca7's in a Wizard?

I have them in my Stiletto, and all I can say in a word is "BIG". They are fat sounding, indeed. JJ's, to be exact. They really have a 6L6 feel, specifically in the relaxed mids, and much rounder/fatter than an EL34.

Sorry, no experience with the Wizard, but I'm sure it would still apply. If you want aggressive, these aren't for you. If you want big, bold, and fat with more headroom, they're right up your alley. If you want to give them a try, let me know. I may pull them out in favor of KT77's. There's only about 10 hours on them.

Def doubt I'd want to steer away from aggressive! I also wonder how the JJ's would compare to say EH's as I consider most JJ's I've heard to be a bit dark

I think warm is a better word. I tried the EH's in a JVM, they're a bit brighter, not as fat.

KT77's are what you want. You'll thank me later!

You have my old mtl, it used to have Sylvania 6ca7s in it, there is a clip by warhead in the wizard forum with those tubes in it. It made the sound warmer and a little bigger, I like JJ e34l's in wizards the best though, those amps were made for JJ's.
