I'm going to try a 5751 in my Marshall to bring the gain down a little -- anyone else try this?
V1 & V2. Left the PI alone. Can't remember which way I like best (V1, V2, or V1 + V2). It was OK. With that amp, though, I ended up with all pres being AX7's and just riding the guitar's volume knob.reverymike":n91dmirc said:Which position? V1 or the phase inverter?
If the gain is all tube it may make a dif.crankyrayhanky":120ccbho said:On a related note, would a 5751 sound good in a EVH 50 watt head- specifically the red ch? For the 1st time in my life I think there may be too much gain, lol

Really a great trick to get some of these modern robo-gain style amps a bit under control, less noisy, less prone to feedback and a touch more useable (at least for me). I have never suffered for lack of gain on this amp.
