Anyone use a Celestion Gold?

I've been really wanting to try any kind of Alnico type out but they're just no real common to try out and expensive to buy ... so I just keep dreaming about it. I think I'd go with the Scumnico if I did.

Got my Scumback M75-LHDC...and I can't wait to throw that in and try it out . I bet the Smumnico would rock!

I have a pair of 12" Celestion Blues in my Vox AC30CC, and they are sweet, sweet speakers.

I understand that the Golds are supposed to sound very similar to the Blues.

Yea, a little more power handling and headroom, same sweet sound.

I wonder what these sound like. I have a connect if if can put it together and get him to take me up there some day.

Both Ted Weber (tedweber.com) and Warehouse Speakers (yes, it's warehousespeakers.com ) sell Celestion Blue clones - Weber offers them in various power ratings. Both are cheaper than Celestions but not exactly cheap.
