Anyone use a Mojo effects loop?

Since I've already used Metro and Ceriatone loops in other amps I've modded, I decided to give the Mojotone one a try. Prior to purchasing I did look for some reviews on Google, and found quite a few that were negative - mostly regarding how distorted it made the signal. Decided to go for it anyway. My Jet City 2204 has narrower jack spacing in the passive loop, so I had to widen out one of the holes to make this board fit.

Simple install like the other ones out there. For now the return control path is jumpered, but might switch to a control pot later on because the levels are slightly off when going back from engaged to bypassed.

I had intended to drill the pattern so the board would be flipped, but neglected to pay attention to the template orientation :ROFLMAO:

Anyway, I'm liking it. I can't tell a difference between this one, or my Metro, or the Ceriatone loop boards in my other amps. For contrast, my Jet City 100H (Soldano Hot Rod+) has the line level loop, and yeah that one is no bueno with one of my pedal setups.

Now it's on to cleaning up the wiring. BTW this has a slightly tweaked JEL mod I did a few weeks ago. Need to try and tame the brightness a little, but overall

Headfirst is the go to these days. Mainly it’s a metroloop but with the fixed orientation for the output and return jacks. I’ve used metroloop as well and I don’t mind it.

Thanks! Oh, I have the board running at 310v fwiw.

Headfirst is actually the next loop I'm going to try when I'm at a point to put a loop in my Jet City 20H.

Now as far as addressing the wiring, what's recommended to keep things tidy? After I took this pic, I put a dab of hot glue on the B+ and ground wires at the board corners to keep them somewhat squared away, but it feels like a cheap move. I could use zipties where it crosses over the preamp leads, but what else should I consider? I assume the B+ line should be crossing perpendicular wherever possible, yes?

Mines at like 290 since I installed my 4th tube. I’m low on voltages across the whole amp. Going to install a new beefier PT to fix that issue. Should bring it back into the 320 range.

They make 3M sticky pads for wire dress that if adhesive is also used, will keep wires managed and not come loose over time. I don’t use them but they do work.

I've thought about using the sticky pads, but over time those will fall off, and not really a fan of that application. I'm not entirely opposed to drilling a hole and threading a zip tie through it if I have to, but I may get creative with securing it with other leads first.
