Anyone use a recto with greenbacks?

How'd it sound? I'm buying a used beat up cab cheap soon and am thinking about putting greenbacks in it and using my triple rec through it stereo with a DSL100 through v30s. It's not for metal or anything, so I don't need uber tight lowend.

My buddy has a 77 marshall cab with greenies and a mesa 3 channel dual recto....sounds pretty damn good!

How does it compare to v30s? Does it sound more natural for low/mid gain stuff?

Yeah...I don't like it so much with his lead channel's gain, but with channel 2 it sounds so woody and warm. that cab is hard to beat. I plugged my splawn into it and it was almost Brown sound.

If you are buying new, I would get the Stan Spec Webers instead of greenbacks.

I replaced 2 V30's in my recto 4x12 with 2 Green Berets and it sounded better to me. I have a 2 channel DR. I love Green Backs so I would recommend trying it. Just make sure the cab can handle the Recto cuz I had trouble with my Green Back loaded Marshall cab and the DR. The DR made if fart bad!

Yeah, but they also scooped, probably used the red channel, tuned really low with high output humbuckers, and used a lot of gain
