Anyone using a Mesa Boogie MK III?

I would go for it, but I think after you move it once, you will be looking for a headshell, those mark series combos are bricks.

Great amp, not a big fan of the combo myself. They totally rip with a 4x12 or 2x12 sealed back. Cleans and texas style crunch are great on the combo's but I didn't dig the "lead" sound on the combo kinda flubbly in the lows and a lil bit fizzy in the highs when you start adding alot of gain. I good OD or boost pedals helps a considerable amount but they sound SOOOO much better as a head with a seperate cab IMO. Like a few other guys said the combo sounds little boxy unless you can really turn the amp up. I think the graphic EQ is a must too. Mine is my practice/back-up amp to my Einstein. All in all very nice amp and even better when you add a good OD/Distor pedal. Look for a combo with a roadcase and wheels unless your into body building or going to the Chiropractor.

My Mark III bluestripe is one of my favorite amps ever. Probably not real versatile if your in a band.

I feel the same way with the mark IV (never played a III myself), the mark IV just sounds better to me for lead tone into a nice closed back cab. I even closed up the top section of my Mesa halfback 412 cab.
