Looking for comparisons between the 2. I've had an original Ultra so I know what to expect with the Fractal stuff, and because I'm loyal, I tend to want to lean back to Fractal....BUT been watching some videos of the Helix units and Line 6 seem to have some pretty nice features and tones coming out of their box.

I'm guessing the tones are going to be pretty similar?

Both seem to have 'Snapshots' for Line6 and 'Scenes' for Fractal, how do these differ? It seems that Snapshots allow you to create a preset and then save different on/off states of effects to create 4 versions of that preset. It's been awhile, but I thought Scenes allow you to do the same thing but you can change the amp style or effect within the different Scenes. Is that correct?

With the Helix and the Helix LT, anyone run into any issues going with the smaller unit? The Scribble Strips, and separate Headphone volume dial seem to be the only features missing on the LT that I would really like, but dont think I could justify the extra $300 for those only. I like the build quality of the regular Helix, seems more sturdy than the LT, but I can't imagine the LT would be built that poorly at $1k that its not reliable.

Any thoughts on those? I'm coming from a Boss GT100, which I went back to because of my familiarity, but it again is leaving me wanting more and Boss really seems to drop the ball or just not get things right time and time again.

Best bet is to tinker with one at GC to get a feel for it compared to your Ultra. From the clips and reviews, they'll all give great sounds. The Helix seems to have some extra conveniences and maybe faster switching.

I've owned the Helix (twice) and AX8. I'm back with the Helix because it offers the most flexibility, easier to use on the fly, able to use more effects at once (meaning you have more options to build larger presets that you can actually access everything) and less lag when switching. The AX8 is great too but for my needs, the Helix kills it.
