I have a 17" MacBook Pro that I bought new in Sept 07. I bought the Apple Care 3 year warranty that expired last Sept. I use this for my videos and everyday for my lessons and so many other things. I had a mainboard replaced last year because of a video issue recall.

Last week the battery just stopped working and swelled up to the point where I had to remove it.

I drove to Ottawa last night to the Apple Store and showed one of the Apple Geniuses the battery and MacBook. I told him it was well out of warranty. He says "No problem sir, we can give you a new battery at no cost". He goes and brings me a brand new battery in a box and puts it in my MacBook and says that should keep you going for a while.
Wow! Very cool. A 3 and 1/2 year old battery replaced for free!

In comparison my TC G Major II has been at TC since Feb 16, sitting on the bench waiting for a part with no ETA...nice. They did say, however it would be covered by warranty even though it has expired. Very tempted to just buy a Rocktron Expression or something. My luck with TC FX has NOT been stellar and I have no faith in them.
I had a G Major 1 that locked and crashed like this G Major II.

there was an expression cheap on the gear classified I think

i agree.i will continue to fly the flag for Apple and its products.

they went out of their way to replace my ipod.and my Imac of 3 yrs, with over 10500 songs in itunes plus all my recorded "ideas" in Logic 8.

only problem i had was the disc drive stopped working.which is guaranteed to happen,i burn/import alot of discs, took it to local authorized repair shop.fixed in 3 days.

waiting on my IPAD 2(tax refund check).

Mark, you're pushing too much tone I keep telling you. Now its your battery packs? Holee!

seriously though, have you used the Intellfex before? I think they are a more reliable unit than the TC, even though I own the TC.

+1 for Apple, I have a Mac Book Pro and an iMac I have only ever had one issue but it was sorted very quickly.

I've been making a living using Apple products since 1991. Really like their stuff a lot. Just at home we have a 24" iMac, 13" MacBook, iPad, 2 iPhones and 4 iPods. :D

Good to know. My battery just did the same thing!

I did some research and you will have much better luck getting it replaced for free (if it's not still under warranty) if you go to an Apple Store. I have read that if you call Apple, they will be happy to SELL you a replacement battery :)

When I went to the store, there was absolutely no hesitation or question about a FREE replacement.
I didn't even have to ask.

Lol. Yes I have tried an Itellifex, many, many years ago. Great unit, but I don't think it does spillover, that is a big thing for me. I can't do without it.
I know the Expression does do spillover. I wish they didn't have those damn wallwarts.

You should seriously consider putting together an Instructional DVD set for purchase, showing people how to set their rigs up to get the most out of them.

I do like them a lot, user since the early 90s, but today had to buy a new Magsafe for our MBP after the original blew the house's fuse yesterday. The MBP (2007) is on its 2nd battery.
My wife's iMac G5 runs and runs and runs, so does my 2010 Mini . . .

Yup, only problem I've ever had was the MagSafe dying on my MacBook Pro. It was only 5 months old when it happened but they replaced it for free so...

I've got a load of Apple stuff. Love it.

Just hooked up Apple TV yesterday and added Netflix. This is too cool.

My family has a ton of Apple stuff. We have Mac books, Mac pro towers and laptops, a couple Mac minis,IPads, iPhones, IPods. Great products and service.

when my Pc died I ran my business for a few months off of my iPhone. Was able to do invoices and estimates easier than on my old Pc. Now I have the MBP,iphone 3gs (upgrading to 5) Apple Tv and Apogee Duet. Now I just started using the cloud Mobile Me and it works so smoothly and easy to set up. Getting the iPad2 soon.

Apple charged me $115 for a new battery for my 2 year old AirBook.

Linux Owns you all...

Probably, but........even after going to their page I still don't know what Linux is.

Is it an operating system? I see it works on multiple hardware platforms? Do you need a particular machine to run it? Is it compatible with other platforms? What are the benefits?

Curious.
