I am about to pull the trigger on a set of MCP Detroiters for my LP. I like the descriptions of the Detroiters being very aggressive and pissed of PAF type tone without going over the top output wise since they come in at around 9.5K ohms.

The Arcane Triple Clones are kind of haunting me as well. I see you have a set in your LP you are selling and wondered what you thought of them. I am sure you've been through enough pickups to kind of A/B the Triple Clone set against the MCP and others.

Are they in the same vein as the Detroiter or are they more of tamer PAF pickup like Allman brothers type tone?

I'll chime in here. The Arcane is a very good sounding vintage style paf. I have one in my main strat guitar. It's vintage kind of sound with a bit mor heat. With Motor city pickups I personally do not care for the Detroiter. Something does not sound right in the lowend for me. My favorite is the 2nd degree Black Belt or the Twreck. 2nd Degree is pisseed off and open with a stringy top end. Very cool. The Twreck is a fat heavy sounding angry beast. Still in the classic vein though with thicker high strings and a bit darker then the 2nd Degree. Of the 3 I metioned the Arcane is the most vintage without being to weak.

Thanks for the input Dave. Can I ask what aspect of the bass response that you hear in it's characteristics negatively impact the Detroiter?

ie: Too Bass heavy, wooly not tight and defined? Not Balanced in the frequency spectrum? Not enough bass response? I know everyone will hear things somewhat differently I am just trying to alleviate some costly trial and error if I can.
