This pedal was given to me this afternoon. Very good shape. Its ok sounding. Looking to mess around with it. My searches have been unsuccessful. Anyone know any cool mods for the Arion Stereo Chorus SCH-Z?

i have one I bought new in the 80's. I love it but hate the plastic. i was going to try and rehouse it in a metal box but didn't look do-able.

haven't heard that one, but I have an SFC-1 that is the best sounding chorus I ever heard. Lush.

If you got rid of all the PC mount garbage (jacks , pots etc) SHould fit nicely in a 1590

damn man i did have info on mod for this one but I cant seem to find it  ill keep looking but i cant promise anything I have gigs of schematics and crap in that vein.

OT this pedal was my first stomp box ever! I remember plugging it in for the first time and being completely amazed at the sound i was hearing.

Ive been waitin for you to chime in on this :)

I have nothing special to add other than a buffer mod I found for a better bypass signal and schematics in my notes thus far.

Bypass buffer mod.

One can change one resistor (R4, from 470k to 1M) and swap the input buffer transistor Q1 for a JFET (i.e. from a C1815/2SC1825 to a MPF102, J201, 2SK117, etc). One has to swap the Drain and Source pins around on the JFET though (i.e. Drain=Collector, Source=Emitter, Gate=Base). It has much less tone suckage.

it wont let me upload the schematic image here???

"The upload was rejected because the uploaded file was identified as a possible attack vector."

Cool thanks man. that thing is a major tone sucker. Probably the worst ive heard yet. Calling my electronics store right now :D

the smallest box it'll fit into is a 1790NS. 1590 is about 1/2" too short.
here's the board:

That link above is no good. I was looking at rehousing it but if I remember right the on off button is PCB mounted. That would have to be cahnged. I have seen one rehoused since this thread was started but I forget where.

Are there any DIY clones of these pedals out there? Any idea when they stopped making them?
