Looks cool. He mentions 'frequency specific clipping'. You think that is just a capacitor in series with the diodes?

I have no idea.

Seriously though. $1,400 for an amp built in the USA? He can’t be making much $$! Plus it’s PTP so it’s easy to mod. I’m even considering buying one.

Im friends with him on facebook. He will also sell kits of this amp.

It's a clean build for sure. Not sure what those sandbox 470R/5W are at the plate R/power supply junction for V1 and V2 are for.

There is a Mercury Mag logo in one of the photos (not on/in amp) but no way he could build it with Mercury iron for that price.

That’s cool too, but for $1,400, just buy one built. I hope the guy is successful since his profit margin must be really small. I believe Metro made almost no profit selling kits for $1,000 a decade ago. I’m seriously considering buying one just to be able to tweak.

Most likely, you could create simple tone stack (so to speak) that runs the signal into the clippers. You could totally control the amount of clipping on the T,M, and B frequency's.

I should have one of these in a couple weeks for some demos. Sounds promising from the clips I have heard but admittedly, they have all been iPhone/in-room

As long as the iron he's using is decent, that a pretty good deal. It looks like a nice clean build.
If he's using ClassicTone or similar, I can't see how he's making much profit on these, but maybe he's willing to put a few amps out there at cost just to get his name or brand known.
I wish him luck, and look forward to some more reviews (JerEvil's  )

They picked two horrible youtubers to review them.

I like those guys but I'm not a fan of either of their demos on anything. Having had some of the gear they have demo'd I know that their vids don't capture what to really expect. I would reserve judgment until Jerevil gets his vids up.

Which reminds me I need to finish my V2 Caldera build this weekend.

I dunno, I thought the Ceriatone Molecular seemed to capture a better sounding Jose/Cameron atomica tone with alot of features for the money, adjustable Feedback, depth mod, metrostyle S/S loop. I know his transformers are supposedly an issue, these are 1350.00 for a 100 watter. That being said I don't think his King Kong sounds any where near a Cameron CCV, Mark built or Brad built. I wonder why it's not as close as the Molecular/Atomica? I'm sure he reverse engineered one down to the last detail.

I want a Molecular. I got a 2204 minus the iron and was really happy with the results. I've been thinking about doing the same thing with an AH or Molecular. That way I could tinker a bit with it and not have to worry about bricking a 3k amp.

Talked to him last night through Reverb, super quick response and very friendly. Thinking about pulling the trigger on the preorder pricing and just returning if it's not my thing. Can't tell from the clips posted but does sound promising.

I heard a clip from Phil Pluskota playing it and it sounded better than all these other demos.

He is allowing returns?

I don't get the whole "send me money, wait for your amp thing" from folks I don't know/trust.

At least it's not 3k. Plus it's through reverb and not a bank transfer.
