Very excited for this one. Its got a little wear but Im buying the f'er to play not put in a glass case. I love how punchy and nasty a tele can get and this one has a stacked humbucker in the bridge and a vintage tele style neck pickup.

Looks sweet man! I would really like to have one of those myself.

Snap man  i got one in a local shop awaiting being paid off, that guitar is insanely good, you're in for a treat if you haven't played one

the in/out of phase switch in the middle position is like having an inbuilt tubescreamer, and they sustain forever

so you're aware, they can be weighty as hell, and the neck on them is a baseball bat but i happen to like that on this guitar.

i was lucky in that my local shop imports Jap fenders privately so was able to get mine brand new and try out 3 diferent ones. the upshot of that was they all sounded amazing, and i got to pick my favourtie. i went for one that was clearer sounding and really rang. i swear to god i timed it and the body was still vibrating 45 seconds after a good loud open chord. the other 2 where gruntier and filthier sounding, and maybe rang a little less time, but was still 30 odd seconds.

i can't wait to get mine, let us know what you think of yours

I was just lookinig at that site yesterday

LOVE the Kotzen tele, the bridge they use imo is the best tele style bridge out there to transfer energy.

Congrats!

I had one of the green ones. It was a cool guitar but I eventaly I sold it b/c of the louisville slugger neck.

That's a really interesting Tele. I've never seen such a unique Japanese one. The flame and pearloid dots really make it for me.

The japanese do a bunch of cool guitars, their custom shop is apparently awesome. Amazingly built too, i'd rate that up with the fender USA stuff easily. same with my jap strat. if you can track down picks of richies sig strats, they're tasty too

I wonder why Richie doesn't have a US model? He's seemed to have earned one.

  this is what i'm talking about, you're assuming that a) the u.s. guitars are better made and b) that he feels the need to have an american sig.

the Japanese love richie kotzen, and been very good to him. i don't know many people with 2 sig models

I am very partial to USA guitars myself (this will be my first non-USA guitar in some time) but I have read so much praise for the build quality of this one and it has all the features and look that I want. Typically, I wouldnt even consider a non-USA Fender when I can get US Fender stuff on ebay < $1000, but Im willing to take the chance based on all the good that Ive heard about this one. Some have put the build quality of the Kotzens on par with their USA Fender Custom Shop guitars and thats saying something. If thats true, it should comes close to my Suhrs.

I owned one of these for a while and it's one of the best guitars I've ever had. Awesome tone, great for bends with the huge frets, loved the rib cut out etc but couldn't live with the fat neck. The neck was way to huge for my girly hands

EWSEthan, my kotzen got paid off today and i'm sitting here with it.. figured i wouldn't steal your thunder with yours as you called NGD first  figured i'd post my pics in here though if it's ok?

I bought a Japanese Tele when I was in Japan recently and it is an extremely well built guitar. Sounds great, too. Put it up against one of my Custom Shop Relic Teles and it held its own.

See, this is what i keep trying to tell people..

what kind? contemporary style or reissue?

Really? I think Kotzen is the shit, but I bet if you ask 1000 people on the street maybe 5 will know who that is.

There are several guys with signature models in the US that are basically unknown by the general public. Tell me that ANYONE you would run into at the grocery store or mall would know Danny Gatton or John Jorgenson. Most people don't even know who Jimmy Vaughan is.

Kotzen is HIGHLY regarded amongst guitarists in the US, and I think he's earned the right to have a Fender sig model. Who's with me!???!! :)
