Been using Arturia V Collection for many years. I planned to get an Arturia KeyLab MIDI keyboard for it, but good I waited.

The AstroLab has 1,000 Arturia V Collection and Pigments sounds, and since I have software licenses for both, I can load up to 10,000 presets from my Arturia software into the AstroLab, and don't need the computer to use them once loaded!

Just ordered the AstroLab today..

in depth look:

AstroLab works great, complete integration with V Collection and Pigments, to go!
Bumping back up.

I recently got into some synth drum machine stuff. Started with some cheap Behringer stuff (Model D is great) and an Arturia KeyStep.
I was looking at more hardware synth modules, when I figured out I can get Arturia V Collection X for $200. I've listened to comparisons, and the software is obviously lacking compared to hardware. But! It's pretty close, and there's no way I could amass a Rhodes, DXT, Juno, etc...
So I'm thinking the V Collection looks good. A lot of the presets sound great, and I reckon would lead to hours of fun.

Curious if you've messed with it much and would recommend?

Yes, I've been using V Collection for several years; it has a many classic synths and keys which would be difficult to cover in real hardware. The V collection is worth it IMO, I wait for the black friday sales to upgrade which was $99 to upgrade to the latest version, X (10) this year.

I also have Omnisphere 2 which has many classic synths, and worth a look. I've been using V Collection longer so I know it better. I used to have Komplete, but stopped using it; I prefer V Collection and Omnisphere for software keys/synths, and Omnisphere does more. I have a few other software synths I purchased along the way, but don't use much anymore (Uhe, Sugar Bytes, Image Line, ...)

I also have a Roland Fantom EX, with access to Roland Cloud which is whole other synth world; I'm getting into the hardware/software ecosystems lately, with Roland and Arturia; a hardware controller for Omnisphere 2 is not easy to find, I have one but it's a pain to configure, I'm always messing with the setup (Nektar Panorama P6)
