Anybody own one? I'm thinking about buying one with my tax return so any feedback is appreciated.

I like this one in particular:

I´ve been looking at the exact same guitar

Remember that you´ll get hit with an additional 30% in customs... so you´re looking at something around $2420 when all is said and done.

If they use Royal Mail to ship it then fees are close to 13%. Good point though.

I wonder how that thing plays. If it plays well, what a deal!!!!

That top is perfect

That´s nice to hear, 13% is a lot better than the 30% I always get slammed with when I buy stuff from the US. I´m guessing it´s some multilateral Commonwealth exception to the normal import duties?

I have an Atlas Elegant (les paul style) that I bought off the board here.
Overall it is a well built guitar but I've had trouble getting it set up correctly.
There is no relief in the neck even with heavy gauge strings and the truss rod completely loose.
I've taken it to 2 different luthiers locally and both said it is a build problem.
Sending it back to Thailand for repair or warranty is pretty much not an option because of freight cost.

Again, well built guitars but no customer support and resale is going to be a bummer because they're virtually unknown in the US.
For that kind of money new I'd be looking at a Tom Anderson or Suhr.

That sucks man. Are they made in Thailand? Is Paul just their dealer in the UK?

From what I understand, Paul is the U.S and U.K distributor. The guitars are hand made by a father son team in Thailand.
I contacted Paul about a month ago regarding this and he offered some ideas on how to try to fix it but that was about it.

i remember seeing a post on another forum from somebody who owned one in the past and loved it, just as much as the suhr's he owned.
Just because it's made in thailand doesn't mean its cheap junk, country of origin has little bearing on quality when you're talking about a brand that's built by two people alone

Who said anything about it being junk? Maybe it matters to some people where the money they are spending is going..
