I recorded this earlier today to demo a patch I downloaded at the Fractal Audio forum. I wish I could remember who posted it. I'm really diggin' it! I was playing along with a Pink Floyd / Comfortably Numb backing track and remembered most of the solo from, well.... I can't remember - it's been years. Anyway, I opened Sonar and recorded it (punched in a couple times - like I said it's been a while).

The recording is posted here:

...and the preset is posted here:

How about hooking up an amp for the feedback path and post another. It may take a bit to get it right, but I believe it will take the recorded tone to another level.

Playing this through my powered monitor at higher volume does indeed make a big difference! My son was studying for a test in the next room so I was playing at low volume through nearfields when I recorded this.

I think it sounds awesome! Great clip! The only thing I would add (and this isn't a criticism by any means) is add some more of your own licks. I love it when players add their own flavors to the tune.

That would have been a significant downgrade. :D

I'll post something much less plagiarised next week. My practice time has been pretty short the past few years due to arthritis so I've lost a lot of 'vocabulary' for lack of a better term. I'll record whatever's still intact. :)

I heard this clip on TGP. Sound fantastic, love it!!! Great stuff

My attempts at recording something original have been awful so far. I decided to go back to learning others material to get my hands back in shape.

I recorded the first and second solo from 'Dogs' on Pink Floyd's 'Animals'.
First solo:

Second solo:

Here's the Axe FX II preset I used for these two clips: home.centurytel.net/flanneldrawers/Axe-FX/Gilmour_lead-Dogs_solo_2.syx
(bypassed Delay block was used for the 1st solo, active Delay block for the 2nd)
