Axe FX or TriAxis?

I haven't played an Axe Fx yet and I'm not going to go on either Side of the Debate.

BUT if you guys run a good Guitar Tube Preamp into really good Cab IRs and EFX you will be surprised at the versatility.

OR load a Head , pad down to line level and into Cab IRs and you'll be hearing more if this due to

Two Notes Torpedo , C.A.B. etc. but many types of Cab IRs sound excellent with Tube Amp /Tube Preamp .

Not as versatile as Axe Fx but much more than you'd think.

You could even run some Axe Fx and then turn the Amp Sims OFF and use the same efx chain and Cab IRs from the Axe Fx with the Tube Pre as input and you'll see what I mean.

Another way would be to use the Torpedo C.A.B. pedal version for IRs.

That was one of the best recoveries I've ever seen... John goes down at around 6:20. Well played, pun intended.

I thought about that. but cabs, fx, weight all together with amp.

I am going to try frfr so I can just take that and use PA. Need to make it as easy as I can for her. Might even just leave something at rehearsal, but I am fairly paranoid, lol

I think that pre you just got will still be a bit too heavy...u need to send it my way!! Lolol. One of these days I'm gonna get into trying a preamp and power amp and finally hooking up the axe into a power amp too...

Glad you gave up the triaxis. You already ditched one that I remember.

The Triaxis is all Mesa from MK1 thru IV and Recto. You won't hear Marshall or Soldano or anything else in. But, the Triaxis is a powerful unit and you get out of it what you put into it. There's loads of programming capability to be done, if you choose to, or keep it simple. As a preamp, it is my favorite and easy to use and damn near indestructible. I think it would run great with the Torpedo Live. There's a few preamps I would like to try again since getting the Torpedo.

I am very curious about how well the Torpedo or Two Notes CAB works with various Tube Pres also.

So please post a Thread when you try it .

I'd like to hear them with EFX also,.just the way we're used to hearing the better modelers.
