I know there is a waiting list and they seem to be VERY well thought of.

How much are they? Has anyone here played through one?

Thanks@!

IMO you would have more than enough firepower with the normal one.

Go to Huge Racks and do a search under Axe-fx....lots of info.

and dont mention Eventide in these threads  :D

Normal one is fine too....I know pretty much nothing about them other than there are folks who seem to swear by them.

I got in early on the regular ones... and now I'm on the list for the Ultra. I'm an FX/textures whore, so I'm looking for as much as I can possibly get. I haven't even really maxed out the regular yet, but the Ultra has a thing or two I can see myself using, and with it, I can consolidate to one unit and have a massive virtual rig for the FX/texture stuff. No need for extra stuff to do one preset.

My Regular's on the block when the Ultra comes in... I'll post it up if anyone's interested, but not ready to get one RIGHT now.

Tony, I have a regular axe-fx...the amp models are great, although I haven't played much with the high gain models a lot...I've mostly been playing with the "brown sound" preset (3 guesses what that emulated) and swapping the amp models out. The USA leads (mark series amps) and brit (marshalls) are pretty fantastic, vlad heard some clips of mine and while the playing is shit, the tone is pretty damn good if I do say so.

I think the regulars are listed at like $1799 or so. Take that how you want though, as the amps are head and shoulders over other amp modeling, and the effects are great as well; I've never had an eventide, but I do hear the two units compared a lot if that gives you an idea. It could very well replace a rack's worth of stuff and your amps.

2200 for the Ultra!!! WTF!!! Ive heard great things but damn, 2200 is a hella lot of coin to drop...

I'm getting one of the regular ones in the not too distant future

Guys, you have to realize, you get $400 back from whatever the listed price is. He's doing that to help prevent floods of orders coming in. Take the price you see and subtract $400. That's the actual price of the unit.

The $400, is that also for the normal axe-fx?? That would place it just 400 above the rocktron stuff.

Yes, both models.

Regular = $1800. Subtract $400 and you have $1400.

Edit: Down the road, Cliff is going to make a "lite" version of the Axe-FX. It will still contain the amp models and whatnot, though. I think he might shrink it down to 1U, but he's not sure how he'll shrink the LCD interface he has.

Sheet......this changes everything now. I need to try one of these things through a nice power amp and direct.

I'd love to pick one up for a future studio setup..wow that would be nice.

You needs to come down to Louisiana... :D

There has not been one clip of the Axe-fx that would even remotely make me break out my Wallet. The Effects seem good but Im not hearing anything special about the Amp Models.
