This is why I have a Diezel rig and a Fractal rig living in Harmony. I've come to understand that there doesn't have to be ONE solution.

Same for me, I much prefer my Diezel rig but fractal is a great 'B' rig tho it feels like hard work sometimes

If you're like me, your gear tastes change all the time...

I don't see the need to be a permanent member of a particular school of thought
Basically, I just do whatever the hell I feel like doing at one particular moment

This.

Honestly - who cares? You only have to please yourself. Come to terms with that, and you'll be happier. I sure am!
Well hell I KNOW this but I understand it's bad for your eyesight and you can get hairy palms if you do too much...

:D

I have a GREAT porn preset on my Axe2...

th3m1ke I really would love some details on how your effects thru the axe fx are playing with the Amp, and how you have set it up.

Sure! Its still in the learning mode since I only recently got the Herbert but the 4 cable method seems to be working well. I dont have much noise but I think with the humbuster cables they recommend it'll run silent. Im going to have a GCP controlling both units.

...and out of mind.

Seriously, packed this "steady" rig up last week or so, haven't missed it since. Weird, eh? I mean, it was and has been my go-to noise maker for the last several months; I have really been gelling with the active wedge CLRs, the stereo panning, the grunt, the clarity and all the other wondrous attributes this set up typically evokes.

But I don't miss it :dunno:

I've been plugging into a head and cab, keeping volumes down, ZERO effects, and just jammin' for hours.

Once again, makes me feel like a weird crossroads is always prevalent when thinking about the Axe-II and actual toober heads. Probably a good idea to pack the whole bloody lot up and forget about it for a while and come out knowing what I want and need rather than figuring out if I want and need

Just sharing...

Can't say I blame you. It happens. I sold my Kemper back in May and haven't looked back since. The Torpedo Live serves my direct recording and live purposes for what I need. Works great! If you have have the sound you like and enjoy then I'd rather use that than continually tweaking and updating firmware to a higher order which I'd probably never get.
I am really wanting to pull the trigger on the Two Notes, I am however TERRIFIED that for some reason the load feature will shit out and my amp will be fried. There is technically no way for this to happen, correct? I mean basically there would just be no sound? Having the amp on for a short time with no cab hooked up shouldn't damage anything, right?

BTW, which head/cab you been playing Mo?
Depends on the mood - 20thX for the bluesy Gary Moore stuff; TJ for most of my noodling; Hagen for some songs I've been working on.

All 3 are still in full swing, but I've got to box another one or two up. I boxed a couple cabs up, so that's at least done, but ultimately?? Hard to say - the TJ is a great amp to be "forced" to hang with because it can do so much with some knowledge, understanding, and patience in the EQ department. I think that might be my holdout - the TJ - I'm really loving what it can do and how it sounds. Touch sensitivity, all sorts of wicked tones, great bass, great everything... It really kicks ass. And it's the youngest amp out of my bunch so I'd like to spend some QT with her, if ya know what I mean...

They're all keepers, I know the VH4 like the back of my hand and that's why it's packed. The 20thA might be next to go, then the Hagen. If I don't make any headway on my curent songs, the Hagen it definitely getting packed. If I manage some forward movement with the songs, she'll stay back. But again, the TJ is a great amp to get to know and love "intimately" if that makes any sense whatsoever.

I'm outta here - avagoodnight!!
Mo

What happened to the Mako rig?

If everybody played a SLO you wouldn't need all this other stuff... ;) :D

They say there is a fail safe built in. I have been using 2Notes stuff for over 3 years - no issues.

Most amps, for a few seconds with no load should be ok. Not something I would experiment with, but I have flipped standby a few times in my life with no cab hooked up. Took me about 3 seconds to stop, hit standby, and check what was wrong. Never had an issue.
