Here is a little collage of my first live gig using the AxeFx Ultra and ART SLA2 poweramp. Friday wasn't so cool, I used my two Mesa 4x12's and they sounded harsh and boomy, I hard trouble dialing it in on stage, it got better but it wasn't like rehearsal on Thursday night with a 2x12".
Saturday I decided to bring two 2x12's (inexpensive Randall's with Celestion Custom 80's)...holy shit what a difference..it was huge and perfect for me!!!! So there go the Mesa's into storage...lol. Damn how much weight is that with flight cases???? lol

There are clams a plenty in this, there is a good example of trailing delays. Sorry no cleans cause I just sucked in that set (well the whole night)..we haven't played in a couple of months and this was our first gig back.

BTW I had no choice but to put my Edirol on top of the PA stack, so there is a lot of guitar in the mix and it is mostly stage volume..not much FOH...sorry :(

Well if you want to share it with the Rig-Talk community, it shouldn't be set to private ;)

Sounded like it mixed in but also cut well live. Very cool!

That is a REALLY great tone IMO.

it cuts through is very in your face .It sounds cool .love what you have done with the spill delays ,by bringing up the level you can really here the effect.

I like it and will definetly check it out live when you guys are in town next month.

Cheers!!!!

Hmmm....i wonder why the Mesa 4x12's were so much worse than the 2x12's  as we all know, its one thing getting a brilliant tone on your own in a room, but a completely different story once you get that sound/tone and put it in a mix. Did you have to change any settings on the Axefx while you were playing with the band Mark or was the cab change all you did? Also, once going through the PA, did you have to do anything with the MIXER eq's to get it to sit better in the mix???

I pulled back a bit of 60hz on the OUT 2 global EQ and had previously pulled some bottom out of the OUT 1 Global EQ. I tend to be bottom heavy and spend most of my time at a lower volume...but live I am loud as fuck. The cab change made a huge difference and made me a believer.
On the FOH I pulled some lows out of the strip but I have to on everything but the kick drum. The drummer uses a 20" and to get sufficient thump with the existing setup I have to EQ the system a little bottom heavy :)

Sounds great and was not expecting Oh Sherrie :D

We do a ton of Journey because the drummer sounds a bit like Perry and the crowds love it :)
