I'm having trouble with my cfx4 that I just bought (used). I'm trying to control it through an RJM Mastermind. It worked yesterday afternoon, but all channels on the cfx4 was momentary. Then, I tried going to "Edit Control Configuration" mode to get all the channels on the cfx4 on latching. Now, every time I power up the cfx4, all the 4 leds will blink one at a time, and that's it. If I go through all the editing (Edit Program Change Channel, Edit Control Configuration, Edit Operating Mode), I am able to go through the channels (cfx4), but when I power it off and power on, all the leds are off and the edit button does not work. As of now, it is not changing channels/configuration when I hit the presets button on the Mastermind. I have checked all the midi cables that I used, and it is working fine. I have a custom 6-pin to 5-pin midi cable made by RJM for my VHT Pitbull 50CL that goes to the cfx4. I also have a GRX4 that I tried using the Mastermind, it works great. I've also tried to program the Mastermind cc 80-83 on midi ch 16, and still won't change the channels on the cfx4, but maybe I'm programming the Mastermind the wrong way, here's the manual http://www.rjmmusic.com/manuals/Masterm ... al-1.1.pdf. I've contacted Ron at RJM and he told me to do as follows:
"I recommend setting the CFX4 to receive program changes on MIDI channel 1. Follow the "Edit Operating Mode" instructions found in the manual you sent to get it into Program Change mode, then follow the "Edit Program Change Channel" instructions to set it to channel 1.
This will set it up to work with the Mastermind. Connect the Mastermind's MIDI output to the MIDI input of the CFX4. To program a preset, select the preset number on the Mastermind. Then press and hold the Edit button - it will cycle through all of the possible combinations of switches on and off. Release the Edit button when it gets to the combination you need. It will automatically save the switch state and will recall that state the next time that preset number is selected on the Mastermind".
I went through this method about 3 times, and still nothing. The cfx4 leds will work on all the editing modes, but after I unplug the power cable then plug it back on, all the leds are off and the edit button won't work. Please help me solve this problem so I can have my rig set up. I hope somebody here has this set up. Thank you very much
