Badlands live Cincinnati August 28 1991 Really Good audio..............

Just came up on my feed today too. Audio is awesome, and what is Jake playing, stock Strats? what are those?

Got to catch them live at Toads place- also a lot of video from that show on YouTube. This sounds so much better though.
Killer band

I saw them at The Channel in Boston when they were touring the first record. They were fucking great. Christ those were great days of seeing amazing bands in clubs. It was an interesting time with the 80’s guys still coming through but in smaller places or doing a package for a theater and the newer sounds of the next decade coming through on their first or second record, plus 80’s alternative acts that were in their stride, not affected by L.A. Metal dying on the vine.

When Jake switched from Charvel to ESP they made him guitars that would essentially turn into his sig model later on with the ESP shape headstock but these had regular Fender strat shape headstocks.

For me, this was Jake's absolute best era. I will never forget buying each of the first 2 Badlands CD's and just LIVING with them 24/7 when they came out. Everything about this just checks every box for me. And IIRC the first Blue Murder CD cam out the same spring? Maybe April of 89 and Badlands came out in May of 89? Damn. Any track of either of those CDs and I am 22 years old again stompin' around West Hollywood.

Dam, it’s such a shame those guys never really got the recognition they deserved, I still think Ray Gillan was one of the best vocalists ever. Jake is killing it! I think if there was more of that footage it would have come out with this but one can only hope

Badlands and Blue Murder are incredible albums. Ray almost became the singer for Blue Murder.

Yep , those two CDs came out within weeks of each other in `89 right around that time
